Consumers International is a membership organisation that works with consumer groups across the world. In the years 2017-18, we had been commissioned by them to document their work and impact in project areas in India, specifically around Chennai and Ahmedabad.

As a core part of their activity in communities, they provide awareness about various rights of consumers to students of private and government-aided schools and in households. They also facilitate this by tying up with puppetry artists or storytellers of other forms.

We documented various households, community gatherings, action-group meetings, awareness events at schools and more at Thiruvadisoolam, Model-lane and Juhapura. Their focus areas have been: safe-cooking methods for women, creating awareness about lighting sources and power usage, purchasing quality goods with ISI/ISO standards.
