Hi! Can I photograph your home?

I am Pavithra, a graphic designer and photographer based in Chennai.

I have been photographing my family and home for the last four years. I want to expand beyond my space and photograph other homes and people. I am excited by the order and chaos in domestic spaces.

I want to collaborate and create images of you and your home. I am interested in how you made the space your home, your personal stories, and the objects and little details that make it yours. The output would be a series of documentary photographs that could become a printed format in the longer run.

What does this involve?

I would require your permission and access to photograph your home on a day and time that is most comfortable for you. Depending on the availability of time and light, a session could be 2-4 hours long. An additional round or two of shooting could be done to create more images.

I will be respectful of your space and avoid photographing something if you’d like me not to photograph it.

As a thank-you for sharing your stories and allowing me access, I will share a set of 6-10 high-quality prints to keep. This arrangement does not involve any monetary compensation for either party.

Where and when?

For easy accessibility, I would like to shoot in and around Chennai. However, if the shoot is scheduled in advance, I am also happy to explore other locations in Tamil Nadu. I prefer shooting on weekends and holidays, but I can be flexible depending on the circumstances.

I target at least 10-12 homes in the next 2-3 months.
