Type from trash, 2017
Troubled by how waste is being handled and disposed of, I wanted to respond to the issue. So, I created typographic compositions with objects found as waste - plastic covers, bulbs, cigarette buds, stones, dried leaves, peacock feathers, and bottles. By combining bio-degradable and non-biodegradable materials in creating these letterforms, I wanted us to reflect on our carelessness towards waste disposal.
You can be responsible. You know what you can do!
The sooner, the better.
I created this project as a part of our analogue photography course. I shot the images on 35mm b/w film and processed and printed them in the darkroom. The waste materials were picked and photographed in our campus junkyard.
The silver-gelatin prints were mounted and displayed in this layout.
