Theism & Conversations, 2017

This zine is a re-interpretation of Julio Cortazar’s story ‘Axolotl’, which draws parallels between the interactions in the story and the conversations that theists have with God. The sequence of photos reflects meditative moments of deep indulgence, rumination and prayer.

Through the zine, I wanted to raise a few important questions like why do we perceive God as a supreme power yet give a human likeness? Why do we think we’d get things in return for our prayer? Is God listening?

After two iterations, the current form of the zine was replicated as digital photocopies and sold at zine popups in Delhi.
