Three Knots & Lots of Turmeric

This book is a photo-retrospective of weddings of the 70s and 80s from Tamil Nadu taken through the lens of my father V. G. Ramanujam. The narrative looks at the social landscape of people, the use of photography as a tool for documenting weddings, the life of a wedding photographer and, the transitions the medium went through over this period. This book also draws parallels to prevalent cinema around that time and overlays the personal experiences of a few women whose weddings took place around the same time.
